Liability Waiver, Release & Assumption of Risk
Bachata Con Piquete Festival · November 23–29, 2026 · Dominican Republic
Signed at booking — placing a deposit or purchasing the package constitutes acceptance of this waiver.
1. The Event
Bachata Con Piquete Festival (the “Festival”) is a multi-city dance and cultural immersion tour taking place November 23–29, 2026 across Santo Domingo, Santiago, Jarabacoa, Cabarete and Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. It includes dance workshops, live music events, ground transportation by bus, hotel stays, excursions (including mountain, river and beach activities) and social events (together, the “Activities”).
2. Execution at Booking
This waiver is executed at the moment of booking: by paying the €300 reservation deposit or purchasing the Full Package (by any payment method), I sign and accept this document in its entirety. My booking is not valid without this acceptance, and this waiver is effective from the date of my payment through the end of the Festival.
3. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk
I am participating in the Festival voluntarily. I understand the Activities involve inherent risks that cannot be fully eliminated even with reasonable care, including but not limited to: slips, falls and collisions while dancing; road travel on public highways; swimming and water activities; hiking and river excursions in mountain terrain; exposure to sun, heat and weather; food and drink consumption; and the general risks of international travel. These risks can result in property damage, illness, serious injury or death. I knowingly and freely assume all such inherent risks.
4. Health, Fitness & Medical Care
I declare that I am in adequate physical and mental condition to participate in the Activities, and that I have disclosed to the organizer any medical condition relevant to my safe participation. If I am injured or become ill during the Festival, I authorize the organizer to arrange emergency medical treatment on my behalf, and I agree that all medical, evacuation and repatriation costs are my responsibility and/or that of my insurer.
5. Mandatory Insurance
I understand that valid travel and medical insurance covering the full duration of the Festival is mandatory for every participant, and that the package price does not include, and is not a substitute for, any form of insurance coverage.
6. Payment Terms & Refund Policy Acknowledgment
I understand and accept the Festival payment system: (a) a €300 deposit reserves my seat, with the €800 balance payable in cash upon arrival at festival check-in; or (b) full payment of €1,100 by credit card in advance. I understand that refunds must be requested in writing at least ten (10) days before the start of the event (no later than November 13, 2026); after that date no refunds are issued, as accommodations, transportation and events are contracted in my name. Voluntarily leaving the tour early does not generate a refund for unused services.
7. Release of Liability for Injury or Death
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Festival, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, estate and legal representatives, release, discharge and hold harmless the Festival organizer, its owners, instructors, artists, staff, volunteers and contracted providers from any and all liability, claims or causes of action for personal injury, illness, disability or death arising out of or related to my participation in the Activities, to the maximum extent permitted by the laws of the Dominican Republic. I acknowledge that mandatory provisions of Dominican law (including Consumer Protection Law No. 358-05 and Articles 1382–1384 of the Civil Code) may limit the scope of this release, and I agree that it shall be enforced to the fullest extent the law allows; any portion found unenforceable shall be severed without affecting the remainder.
8. Rules of Conduct & Safety
I agree to follow the reasonable safety instructions of the Festival crew, drivers, guides and venue staff during all Activities; to comply with Dominican law at all times; and to behave respectfully toward other participants, staff and local communities. The organizer may remove from the Festival, without refund, any participant whose conduct endangers themselves or others.
9. Image & Media Release
I grant the organizer permission to photograph and record me during Festival events and to use such material for the Festival's promotional purposes. I may withdraw this permission for future use by written notice to the organizer.
10. Governing Law, Language & Jurisdiction
This document is governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, and any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional. In accordance with Law No. 358-05, the Spanish-language version of this document, printed legibly and expressly accepted by both parties, is the binding version; this English text is provided for convenience. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
